On January 5th of 2008 Higgins Armory Museum will be celebrating its eightieth birthday! With the help of our sponsors WCRN radio AM 830 and…..we will commemorate this occasion by offering free admission to the public ALL DAY. Come see everything that the Higgins has to offer, including live swordplay demonstrations and a free art workshop! Watch as wildlife educator Larry Keating introduces audiences to live animals during his fascinating presentations of Medieval Owls at 11:00 am and Falcons at 1:00 pm. (Note: seating is limited to 120 people per presentation and is available on a first-come, first served basis.) The event begins as soon as our doors open at 10am, and at Noon The Honorable Mayor Lukes will be cutting our 80th birthday cake. Founder’s day is to honor John Woodman Higgins, and the tradition of having a day of free admission started with him, and has continued ever since.
