Higgins Armory Museum Takes a Big "Chilly" Step

One of the units is hoisted onto the Museum's roof.

WORCESTER, Mass., Visitors to the Higgins Armory Museum are now greeted with the perfect summer treat--a fully air conditioned Great Hall! After a great deal of planning and eight weeks of installation, including the hoisting of literally tons of equipment onto the Museum's roof, cool air now circulates throughout the 3rd and 4th floors.

"We are so excited to have this project completed," said Executive Director Kent dur Russell. "Coupled with weekday gallery tours and demonstrations, and all of our fantastic Saturday programs, it makes the Higgins Armory Museum a natural summertime destination."

The project was made possible through the generous financial gifts of the George I. Alden Trust, the Fletcher Foundation, the George F. and Sybil H. Fuller Foundation, Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Lankton, the Stoddard Charitable Foundation and the The Raymond John Wean Foundation.
