Director's Message
Winter 2005-6
Good news - we’re great! To keep our accreditation
with the American Association of Museums (AAM) current, every ten years we have to go through their rigorous re- accreditation
evaluation-a year-long, committee-driven process! I’m pleased to announce that the Higgins Armory Museum has passed with flying colors
and has been accredited for the next ten years!
From our front admissions desk staff to operations in general, the Higgins received high praise in most areas. Of course, our peer
review report also had many valuable suggestions for improvements and these will guide us towards excellence over the next decade
as the last report guided us over the past decade. Most importantly, the Higgins was commended for being a friendly, welcoming place
that is focused on the visitor’s experience. Accreditation from the AAM is of great consequence: it indicates that we operate at the highest
levels, with standards uniform with other great institutions across the nation.
What a great finish to our year!
