Higgins Armory Museum Receives Grant From Saint-Gobain
To Support Great Brook Valley Literacy Program
WORCESTER, Mass., Sept. 26, 2003 - The Saint-Gobain Company, Worcester division, has awarded the Higgins Armory Museum a $5,000 grant to aid in funding the third year of KidsQuest, a literacy program based in the Great Brook Valley neighborhood of the city.
A partnership between the Great Brook Valley Library Branch of the Worcester Public Library and the Higgins Armory Museum, KidsQuest benefits neighborhood elementary-school-aged students by providing age-appropriate readings and related fun activities such as role-playing and craft sessions. KidsQuest provides a safe and nurturing environment for youngsters at a time of the day when they might not have adult supervision.
Saint-Gobain's generous funding will ensure the continuation, and eventual expansion of the KidsQuest program.
