Annual Winter Ball Huge Success

December 14, 2001 Contact: Malory Truman (508) 853-6015 ext. 26

"From Russia With Love" Winter Ball
Saturday, Feb. 4, 2002, 8:30 p.m. to "midknight"

For one night, Castle Higgins was transformed into the Winter Palace! More than 200 guests marked the closing night of the fabulously successful Shields of Faith Russian icon exhibit! Dressed in their best James Bond or Czarist finery, everyone had a great time swing dancing to the music of the Eastwood Swing Orchestra, having their fortune told by "Madame Natasha", dancing with a real knight-in-shining-armor, and competing for raffle prizes like Russian delicacies and James Bond DVDs. The team from Fred Astaire Dance Studio helped everyone dust off their dancing shoes, with a lesson and a wonderful exhibition dance. They also donated the evening's door prizes, 8 prizes of 3 dance lessons.

Our most important winter fundraiser, the ball raised 30% more than last year, money which will support the Museum's youth education programs.

Thanks are due to the hard work of the wonderful committee, chaired by Janet Lankton and Cindy Pitcher.
