Gold Birthday Party

A Gold Birthday Party is a 2 ½ hour guided program that includes all of the following:

• A costumed Museum Educator will guide your group for the duration of the party.
• Participate in a private live arms-and-armor show that ends with a knighting ceremony for the birthday child.
• Enjoy a guided tour of the Museum’s collection in our magnificent gothic-style Great Hall.
• Play chess or dress-up in our hands-on Quest Gallery designed for young visitors.
• Make your own masterpieces to take home! Choose from one of our workshops: Heraldic Shields, Heraldic Pennants, Clay Castles, Clay Dragons, Princess Diary Kits, or Ladies Medieval Ball Masks. (Special workshops available for younger children -- call for details)
• Enjoy time in our specially decorated private room for cake and presents.
• Use of our birthday sword to cut your cake!
• Also, $10 in Museum Birthday Bucks that your child can use in our gift shop.

The price of a Gold Birthday Party is $225 for museum members or $260 for non-members. This price includes admission for up to 15 children and 10 adults. Additional children can be added for $12 each. A maximum of 20 children can attend the party.

Gold Birthday parties can be booked on Saturdays with a start time of 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m., or on Sundays with a start time of 1:00 p.m.

Ruby Birthday Party

A Ruby Birthday Party is a 2 hour guided program that was designed for our younger birthday children and includes all of the following:

• A costumed Museum Educator will guide your group for the duration of the party.
• Participate in a private live arms-and-armor show that ends with a knighting ceremony for the birthday child.
• Play chess or dress-up in our hands-on Quest Gallery designed for young visitors.
• Make your own masterpieces to take home! Choose from one of our workshops: Heraldic Shields, Heraldic Pennants, Clay Castles, Clay Dragons, Princess Diary Kits, or Ladies Medieval Ball Masks. (Special workshops available for younger children – call for details)
• Enjoy time in our specially decorated private room for cake and presents.
• Use of our birthday sword to cut your cake!

Silver Birthday Party

A Silver Birthday Party is a 1 ½ hour self-guided program that includes all of the following:

• Be greeted by a Museum Educator who will provide a short orientation to the Museum as well as maps of the galleries and scavenger hunt sheets for the party participants.
• The chance to explore the Museum's galleries at your own pace.
• Attend any of our scheduled demonstrations (see Calendar of Events for full schedule).
• Play chess or dress-up in our hands-on Quest Gallery designed for young visitors.
• Use of our specially decorated private party room for 1 ½ hours for refreshments and the opening of presents.
• Watch the birthday child become a Knight of the Higgins Armory Museum.
• Use of our birthday sword to cut your cake!
• Also, $10 in Museum Birthday Bucks that your child can use in our gift shop.

The price of a Silver Birthday Party is $155 for museum members or $190 for non-members. This price includes admissions for up to 15 children and 5 adults. Additional partygoers can be added at our general admissions prices ($9 for Adults, $8 for Seniors, and $7 for Children).

Your group may enter and stay at the Museum for as long as you wish; the 90 minutes in the party room begins on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., or 2:30 p.m., or on Sundays at 12:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. Call us for details on doing a weekday afternoon party.

Details

Advance reservations and a $25 non-refundable deposit are required to secure your date. The total base price is due 3 weeks before the party date. Any balances due to additional participants must be paid before leaving the Museum on the day of your party.

The minimum age for a birthday party is 5.

The birthday family provides invitations, table decorations, food, and drinks. We provide color coordinated paper goods (table cloth, paper plates, forks, spoons, and cold cups). You may bring your own theme-related table covering and paper goods if desired. Balloons are allowed in the party room only. Colorful medieval murals decorate the walls of the party room; we ask that you not bring any additional wall decorations. Per the Museum’s insurance policy, birthday candles, piñatas, and helium tanks are not allowed. The party room is equipped with a full size refrigerator/freezer (you may not have access to these until your scheduled time depending on the other programs for the day -- plan accordingly for ice cream cakes and such). There is also a sink area. For the Gold and Ruby parties, the time for refreshments is limited; we ask that you do not provide a full meal for the group.

Special Membership Offer

Purchase a Family Membership at the time that you book your birthday party, and receive a discounted membership rate of $45 (regularly $60). A family membership entitles your household to free Museum admission for a year, along with many other benefits. Click here for details about membership.
