Salle d'Armes Class10:30 am - 12:00 pmHave you ever wondered what it is like to wield the knightly longsword or the musketeer's deadly rapier? At the Higgins Academy of the Sword you will receive expert instruction in rapier, longsword, and dueling sabre, as well as the classical forms of modern fencing weapons. We invite you to join a growing community of men and women exploring the art, science, and spirit of the sword in a safe, progressive system of instruction. Build overall fitness and coordination as you learn living swordplay traditions handed down from the days when a person's life might depend on their skill with a blade. Class meets every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 and Saturday mornings from 10:30 to noon. Monthly tuition rate of $100 applies. Individual classes are $20 each. Swashbuckling 10112:30 pm - 1:15 pmAvast ye scurvy dogs! Be prepared to defend your Jolly Roger with the fury of your cutlass and slash of your dagger. Explore what it takes to keep even the most ferocious Barbary pirate foes at bay. Class is open to age 14 and up, or age 10 if accompanied by a participating parent. Space is limited. No experience is needed and all equipment is supplied. Workshop participants are advised to wear comfortable clothing with long pants and athletic footgear.
