Explore the world of knights in shining in armor, of princess trapped in a castle, and of fire breathing dragons. Fun and excitement this summer at the
Higgins Armory Museum.
Tuesday-Friday June 22nd - August 27th
- Live Arms and Armor Shows! Why armor? Who wore it, who made it, and why are there so many different types? Learn the answers to these questions and more. Audience participation encouraged!
- Heraldic Shield Workshop! Discover the history of heraldry and then create your very own unique heraldic shield. Learn what the different “charges” or symbols that decorate the shields stand for and what colors represent courage, generosity, loyalty, or hope. Can you create a shield that tells everyone about who you are? This workshop is designed for children to work with an adult and is $5 per project.
- Hands-on Cart! Catch our cart wandering through the exhibits with objects you can actually touch! Try on a gauntlet, handle some mail armor, or pick up a helmet and feel what the “knights and warriors of old” experienced.
